INTRODUCTION
Each year, when we read The Outsiders in class, many students end up saying that it's become one of their favorite books. Students borrow the book so they can find out how it ends. I've even had some students borrow the book and "forget" to bring it back so they can read the book again and again. Students come back after they graduate and talk to me about how they hated "The Tragedy of Julius Caesar," but loved The Outsiders! To put it shortly, you guys will LOVE this book!!
But did you know that S.E. Hinton was not much older than you when she wrote this book? Did you know that she was a "famous author" before she got out of high school? Did you know that she wrote quite a few books? And that many of those books became very popular movies?
In this WebQuest, you'll have a chance to learn more about S.E. Hinton, learn more about the different books she has written, and analyze the relationships within each book and the relationships the books have with each other. Ready? Good. And away we go!
